Torremolinos

MalagaBenalmadena (Pueblo)

• 60.000 inhabitants, from Nerja 75 km (50 min.)

Torremolinos has been a popular beach town for decades for mainly the Dutch, but is also popular within the gay scene. Although the place is quit big and the centre is nice, it still might look a little ‘70’s’. That’s when mass tourism began in Spain and they build lots of high rise in Torremolinos.

This town might not be everybody’s cup of tea, because it’s big, busy and not exactly pictoresk, but it does have some nice attractions to visit: Crocodile Park, family Park Tivoli World (in Arroyo de la Miel) and a horse show (Ritmo a Caballo).

On the 11th of June they celebrate the party of ‘El Dia del Pescaito’ (in La Carihuela) with lots of traditional clothing, flamenco music and free fish (sardines, paella etc.).
