Torre del Mar

Torre del Mar lies on the coast and has a nice boulevard of almost 4 kilometres long. Officially, it’s part of Velez-Malaga which is the capital of La Axarquia (eastern part of the province of Malaga), but Torre del Mar is situated to the south of the highway.

There is a big shopping mall, El Ingenio, directly next to the highway. Here you find hypermarket ‘Eroski’, a cinema complex and all kinds of stores. Upstairs there’s all kinds of (fast)food restaurants. Next to the shopping mall lies a big parking place with shady parking spots. The opening hours are from Monday to Saturday from 10:00 am to 10:00 pm, so without siesta.

Close to El Ingenio there’s also a wildlife park, a golf course (Baviera Golf) and towards Malaga along the coast is a cart track. The next village Caleta de Velez has a small harbour.

The market of Torre del Mar is on Thursday (carpark opposite Calle Infante) and on the 2nd and the 4th of the month there's a flea market.
