The Spanish love music and not just traditional flamenco or sevillanas. You can listen to live music in a lot of places and the right emotion usually is more important than it being sung perfectly. In the hit parades there are English songs as well as Spanish songs. South-American songs - by the way - are much easier to understand than Andalusian. There’s a huge variety in style, from the traditional Andalusian music with its Arabic intonation (like in flamenco), to pop-music, salsa, rumba, rap, rock and reggaeton (Spanish disco music with a very strong beat). A lot of styles are more or less mixed and this can give an interesting variety. If you search the internet you can find live streaming radio. For example Canal Fiesta has a nice mixture of songs and Radio Olé is completely traditional Andalusian. You can see the charts if you have a look at www.los40.com Click here for a list of radio stations in Nerja and the Malaga province (with internet emission).
