Public transport and taxis

Public transport

There are Andalusian buses from Nerja to the caves in Maro, to Frigiliana, Torre del Mar, Malaga (Airport), Granada etc. The bus station is at the entrance of Nerja (tel. 0034 - 952 521 504), on both sides of the N340 (close to the Olmo store). You can buy your ticket either at the wooden ticket office or sometimes with the driver (so take small change) and don’t forget to ask when the bus goes back again.

Within Nerja you also have a town bus and a tourist’s train. The special bus stops of ‘Verano Azul’ are from a commercial company which drives you directly to Malaga, Seville, Ronda, Cordoba etc. The normal public transport of course takes much longer, but they are much cheaper.

Taxis

Taxis aren’t that expensive and can be a perfect solution to parking problems or too much alcohol during your holiday. Distances between cities are lengthy though. For example: Nerja – Malaga Airport will cost you between 55 and 70 Euros whereas for 80 Euros you can rent a car for a week. Check that the meter looks alright or otherwise make a price arrangement.
