Mercadona is the best supermarket in Nerja and most Nerjenos also shop there themselves. The price-quality is good and you have enough choice. The main entrance is in Calle San Miguel and there's a free parking garage that you can reach from the back-side of the building (enter from the bus station). For a wider range of imported products you can go to Supersol (there is one at the old bridge and also one at Capistrano), but this store is a little more expensive. Supersol at the old bridge at the entrance of Nerja has its own parking garage and also a department store underneath the supermarket, selling home wear, house and electrical goods etc (if quality isn't the biggest issue you can also buy many of these items at the cheaper 'chino' shops). Also Supersol at Capistrano has its own car park. The largest variety of imported products can be found at Iranzo's at the roundabout on the main road and this store also has a surprisingly big alcohol department. Iranzo has its own parking plot and the price level is about the same as Supersol. Generally the supermarkets are open from Monday to Saturday from 9:15 till 21:15 and in high season (July - August) some also open on Sunday. Iranzo does siesta. Some smaller supermarkets (for example Jamaica in West Nerja) always open on Sunday. If you want to do some more shopping during you holiday, you can go to shopping mall 'El Ingenio' in Torre del Mar next to the high way with a huge car park (20 minutes from Nerja), open from Monday to Saturday from 10 till 22). End of 2009 a new Lidl will be opened on the to Frigiliana (just before the high way). |
